Henry had been a machinist for 40 years. He’d put both kids through college, paid for weddings, and helped with down payments on houses.

He’d given them every advantage he could afford. And they’d repaid him by treating him like garbage.

When I confronted Henry about it, he just smiled sadly. “I gave them everything I had, Ethan.

I hoped it would make them good people. I guess I was wrong about that.”
